Come visit our mill…

Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Highlands of western North Carolina is our small artisan fiber mill in Andrews, North Carolina.  You should consider taking the drive down through the Blue Ridge Parkway, known as “America’s Favorite Drive”, to the eastern edge of the Great Smokey Mountains National Forest.  From there continue on past Bryson City, through the dynamic scenery of the Nantahala Gorge on highway 74 and it will open into a beautiful pastoral landscaped valley and the little town of Andrews.  The town of Andrews is a quiet, laid back town full of great shops, people and culture.  Well known as the fly fishing capital of the world there are so many outdoor adventures to be had here in Western North Carolina.

One of our mill staff would be delighted to give you a tour of the mill so that you can see just how the process works and help educate you on the best process for the fiber that you raise.  Bring along a sample of the type of fiber that you raise and we’ll show you how that particular fiber would process in our facility.  You’ll learn about the products that we make, the type of machinery that we use, the processing performance of your specific fiber and the different processes we employ in order to make all things beautiful.

If you’re interested in coming down we would love to have you!  And while you’re here we would suggest staying at one of these great places: The Cozad-Cover House B&B, Fernwood Cottage,  The Hawkesdene Private Estate, or check out this little hideaway cabin.  There are also many great local attractions, events and restaurants that you would be interested in.  You can find out more through the chamber’s website or here at the Town of Andrews website.  Do you want to learn how to become a maker yourself?  Check out The John C Campbell Folk School website and get registered for one of their many great classes.  You could also hang out at the NOC, hike the Appalachian Trail, visit the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, go mountain biking, horseback riding or white water rafting.

All you have to do is send us an email today info@morningstarfiber.com and let us know when you are thinking you’d like to come by and take a tour and we’ll help you set a date that would work well for your schedule.  We’re here Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and on Saturdays by appointment.
